Once again, it is my pleasure to present you our electronic platform “ARI online”, which will offer you the possibility of reading and listening to the presentations given during “Lens, Refractive and Wavefront Summit ARI/WFC 2009”.

   In this online service you will find the original version of the presentations delivered by each of the speakers. This has been possible thanks to the generous contribution of all the speakers and the industry supporting the event. We would like to thank them all for the service this provides for the benefit of continuous medical education in cataract and refractive surgery.

   I do hope you will find this platform useful and we shall be willing to include your suggestions and comments concerning its practicality to improve its usefulness for you.

   As you know, for the last 11 years ARI, Alicante Refractiva Internacional, has been a meeting forum between Spanish Ophthalmology, in particular for Cataract, Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery, and International Ophthalmology. During these years, over 400 speakers and more than 3600 attendees have come to our meeting. The most relevant figures in refractive and cataract surgery have lectured in ARI over this period.

   All this has been possible thanks to the generous contribution of the industry support of the meeting and the institutions providing their support for ARI both on a political and organizational level: University Miguel Hernandez of Elche, Alicante, Spain, International Society of Refractive Surgery of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (ISRS/AAO), the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Medicos de Alicante, being among the most distinguished. Since it was first celebrated, ARI has obtained the CME credits from the General Medical College of Spain and the Conselleria de Sanidad of the Valencian Community. For all, our thanks and recognition for their support.
